Following the successful launch of our Trainee Manager programme last year, our intake of 2019 trainees commenced their employment with Greencore last month.
Made up of A level and college leavers, on 16 September, we welcomed 3 commercial and 7 operational trainee managers to the business, who will be based throughout the UK.
The trainees first 2 days based at our Northampton site included team building exercises, looking at building relationships with line managers and mentors, discovering how to be a great manager using the support of our Line Manager Framework and learning how to give and receive feedback.
The purpose of the programme is to help new and existing colleagues to ‘Go further with Greencore,’ through a four-year degree aligned to real work, in real jobs, across several of our sites.
Delivered in partnership with Nottingham Trent University, the programme provides different career pathways into our Commercial and Operations teams, giving our trainees real life experience alongside a recognised Level 6 qualification.
Feedback from the trainees after the first 2 weeks with the business has been fantastic with our trainees commenting on an “excellent week learning about Greencore” and “a great induction and insight in to the trainee manager programme.”
