We’d like to say a big congratulations to Greencore Northampton’s Apprentice Engineer Erihs Janovskis . His dedication to achieving the highest possible grades across all of his BTEC modules has seen him rewarded with “Intermediate Apprentice of the Year” from his training body which is a fantastic achievement considering he was up against 400 candidates. He was presented his award by MP for Corby & East Northamptonshire, Tom Pursglove (pictured right).
Erihs joined Greencore Northampton 7 years ago and quickly worked his way up to a Setter role, responsible for setting up the production machinery on the lines. His aptitude and attitude were soon apparent and he was successful in gaining an Apprenticeship in the Engineering department 18 months ago.
Erihs manager Dave Harrison had the following to say about him:
“Erihs eagerness to learn and assist his mentoring teammates has proved invaluable at times, and has seen him become a respected member of the Engineering team. He is a notable example of the value of the Apprenticeship system in our industry and how it can mutually benefit both employers and employees.”
We’re now hoping to see the same results and application from the new Apprentices within our Engineering team over the coming years. Erihs has set a fantastic standard for them to follow.
