IMPORTANT GROCERYAID ANNOUNCEMENT
GroceryAid has been at the heart of the food and drink industry for over 160 years supporting colleagues through crises.
In more recent weeks, our industry has faced into extreme pressure and has worked together to keep the nation fed. This has been a huge challenge for colleagues across the supply chain.
This week, GroceryAid has launched the Covid-19 Fund, which has been established to provide enhanced support for grocery colleagues during this unprecedented period. GroceryAid has raised £1.5m to ensure support will reach colleagues who needs it the most.
GroceryAid CEO, Steve Barnes said:
“Our industry has been tested like never before and colleagues have risen to the challenge. We are proud that this fund enables us to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those who now need help as a direct consequence of Covid-19.”
The fund will provide mental health support, bereavement financial assistance and crisis grants.
Mental Health Support
Offering ‘in the moment’ emotional and practical support for grocery colleagues dealing with shock, anxiety and stress through BACP trained counsellors, a Health & Wellbeing portal and Woebot, our friendly AI Robot app. Available to all grocery colleagues from day one of working in our industry.
Bereavement Financial Assistance
Providing financial assistance for the loss of a loved one through Covid-19. Available to grocery colleagues who lose a partner or the immediate family of a colleague who has passed away as a result of Covid-19 whilst working in our industry.
Crisis Grants
Available for grocery colleagues that face unexpected financial emergencies due to Covid-19. Crisis grants are accessible to colleagues with a year’s industry service and are non-repayable.
We would urge colleagues to get in touch via the 24/7 Helpline if they want support with challenges caused by Covid-19. We know that people all deal with crises differently, so our support is tailored to the needs of the individual.
