Greencore’s Direct to Store team in Scotland has made donations of sandwiches to Malawi Fruits – a sustainable community enterprise which is working to establish and grow sustainable community businesses in the North of Malawi.
Greencore has made three donations of sandwiches for the charity’s cycling events, which had a total of 1,065 cyclists taking part. The events have raised £33,500 and have helped to fill a huge gap after a lean fundraising year in 2020.
Malawi Fruits’ main work is providing solar irrigation pumps to increase the crop yields farmers can achieve, and therefore push up their household incomes. Fundraising events like these have a direct impact for some of the poorest people in the world.
