Local convenience food manufacturer Greencore, based at Manton Wood Enterprise Park, recently hosted a series of events celebrating colleagues that have completed a bespoke three month ‘Training Excellence Programme’.
The programme gives Greencore colleagues the knowledge, skills and experience to effectively train other colleagues in operational tasks.
Helen Oliphant, Learning and Development at Greencore said: “We have many great people working for us at Greencore, and we know that for many it is important that they have the opportunity to learn new skills and grow their career with us.
“Our bespoke Training Excellence Programme is a blend of classroom training, shop floor practical experience and activities to practice and refine skills in communication, listening, observation and giving feedback.
“Everyone has put so much hard work into this programme, and it was important for us that we were able to recognise and celebrate their achievements.”
Joshua Leeson was one of the participants. He had this to say about the programme: “It’s given me the skills to develop how we train on site. It’s great to see Greencore puts investment into training, showing the true value of putting people at the core.”
Joanna Kowalska, another participant had this to say: “The course helped me to deal with challenging situations and be able to confront poor performance. I really enjoyed the course.”
Alens Gindra, Learning and Development Specialist, who was responsible for delivering the programme at Greencore said: “It was a pleasure for me to help deliver the programme at Greencore and it is incredibly motivating for me to see how our colleagues are applying what they have learnt in their day to day work.”
