Earlier this month a team of ladies from Greencore Food to Go in Northampton participated in a charity Tug of War event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event was held at Westminster Abbey, and included a welcome from The Speaker of the House of Commons and the Lord Speaker of the House of Lords, a speech from Lynda Thomas, Macmillan CEO, with commentary from the radio and TV presenter Jeremy Vine.
10 Tug of War matches were held, RAF vs Army, the fire services, industry giants, city firms and the headline match, the House of Lords vs the House of Commons.
Despite being novices the Greencore team were proud to finish in second place and help to raise more than £113,500 for Macmillan in the process.
