Stephen Copson, Bassetlaw District Manager for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is shown here with Ed Rowlands, General Manager at Greencore Manton Wood.
Our site in Manton Wood was presented with The Chief Fire Officers Certification of Recognition – for their support to the fire service during the Worksop floods last year.
On behalf of CFO John Buckley
Due to the ongoing pandemic, we have unfortunately been unable to go ahead with our annual awards ceremony. However, as a Service, we value the importance of recognising achievements in our community and are eager to go ahead with presenting the awards. Greencore Foods have been highlighted for their exceptional efforts.
Details of the nomination;
Greencore were contacted on the night of the Worksop floods to ask if they could provide any support for responding agencies in relation to welfare. Greencore have previously supported incidents in the local area and they again provided over 120 fresh sandwiches for Crews and responders, totally free of charge.
Greencore’s support meant that Crews had access to free, fresh sandwiches which supplemented the Welfare Unit’s provisions and meant that responders were fed and kept sustained during a long hard night of work.
We are proud to support our local heroes, but we recognise the devastation the floods have caused in our local community and we know many people are still dealing with the consequences of the floods.
