NHS Warrington CCG Press Release:
COVID vaccination bus makes its next stop at Warrington business
Warrington’s vaccination bus hit the road again earlier today (Tuesday 11 May) to provide COVID jabs to scores of eligible employees at a Woolston food manufacturing firm.
Greencore is the next stop in the borough for the double decker vaccination bus which has been launched as a result of a partnership between Central and West Warrington Primary Care Network (PCN), NHS Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Warrington’s Own Buses and Warrington Borough Council.
Warrington GP and Clinical Director of the Central and West Warrington Primary Care Network, Dr Laura Mount, said:
“Our friendly team of vaccinators, clinic co-ordinators and volunteers were delighted to visit Greencore today and welcome eligible staff onboard to get their first dose of the COVID vaccine.
“We want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for people in Warrington to get their jab. The bus provides us with a great way to take COVID vaccinations out into our communities and when requested to workplaces and administer the jab safely and efficiently to eligible people who haven’t been able to visit one of our local vaccination sites.”
Commenting on the vaccination bus, Jane Stanton, General Manager at Greencore Warrington said:
‘Our people are critical to our success, and our first priority is to keep them safe whilst at the same time helping to feed the nation. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, we have worked tirelessly to protect our people and to support them through this crisis. We are delighted to be able to encourage and support our colleagues in getting the vaccination, which is an absolutely critical step in the recovery out of this pandemic, and we would wholeheartedly encourage them to take advantage of this opportunity.’
After returning for a second vaccination session at Greencore later this week, the next stop on the schedule for the bus will be Warrington Town Hall on Thursday 20 May for a public drop-in vaccination session. More details about the session will be announced shortly.
If you are currently eligible to have the vaccine but don’t want to wait for the bus, you can book an appointment at a local vaccination site by contacting your GP practice, visiting nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or calling 119.
If your workplace would like to be considered for a visit by the vaccination bus, you can contact the council’s public health team at [email protected]. Please note you must have staff in your workplace who are eligible to get vaccinated but have not yet visited a vaccination site.
