A team of competitors from Greencore beat a team from Marks & Spencer in a fundraising Tug of War event in Westminster yesterday, organised by MacMillan Cancer Support and sponsored by M&S.
The annual fundraising House of Lords vs House of Commons Tug of War took place on Tuesday evening outside of Westminster Abbey – all in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
Greencore fielded a team ‘The Greencorettes’ against friendly rivals M&S Ladies, and came out victorious.
The event was attended and supported by the media with commentary by broadcaster Jeremy Vine with international Tug of War athlete, Tara Adams on hand to advise the teams with last minute tips.
There were 10 matches throughout the evening, culminating in ‘The Parliamentarians’ – with The House of Lords competing against The House of Commons.
