Greencore’s Northampton team were proud to represent the company at Macmillan’s House of Lords vs House of Commons fundraising event.
2019 marked the 4th year Greencore have supported this great charity event.
Having previously only entered a women’s team, it was the first time we also submitted a men’s team, who clearly had a level of expectation to step up to the plate.
Going up against one of our customers, competition was high. After weeks of training the Greencore ladies got the event started with a dominating 2 – 0 victory, in the ‘best of 3’ format.
As for the men, a competitive first pull showed there wasn’t much to split the teams, however our customer took the first end. A dominant second pull from Greencore took us to a deciding leg. After a touch and go third pull, the other team proved themselves too strong and unfortunately Greencore men were defeated.
Whilst not leaving with 2 trophies both teams did extremely well and it was great to support such a great event and charity.
