Munster Rugby has this week announced the opening of its High Performance Centre at the University of Limerick.
The €15m state-of-the-art centre provides the Munster players, coaches and staff access to Ireland’s leading sports campus and houses the Greencore Munster Rugby Academy.
A number of rooms within the High Performance Centre will carry the names of companies who supported the project as part of the Friends of Munster Rugby Programme, including the Greencore Group Kitchen.
Greencore announced its partnership with Munster Rugby in 2014. The Academy which is central to the sustainability of Munster professional rugby has produced some of Ireland’s leading players since its inception, and has also proved a productive pipeline for emerging young players.
The Academy is a 3 year development programme whose purpose is to produce excellent professional players for Munster and Irish Rugby. The programme develops players along 5 streams – Rugby Tactical, Rugby Technical, Physical, Mental and Lifestyle.
