Greencore Commercial Controller, Gary Pothecary, spent the evening of GroceryAid Day (26 April) talking about one of his favourite topics: sandwiches, and in doing so he raised funds for industry charity GroceryAid.
Gary was invited to host a presentation on the sandwich industry by the Hedge End Rotary Club, based in Hampshire and he took the opportunity to lean on his many years’ experience within the industry, with a focus on Greencore specifically.
Commenting on the talk, Gary said: “In the past I would have run a marathon or something a little more energetic to help this wonderful charity. When I was approached by the Rotary Club to present to the members evening meeting about my favourite subject sandwiches, in return for a donation to GroceryAid, I jumped at the opportunity.”
By way of thanking Gary, the Hedge End Rotary Club made a donation to GroceryAid.
Each year, the charity organises an awareness day (GroceryAid Day), where the whole industry shines a light on the great work it does in supporting industry colleagues and their families.
Thank you Gary for being such a great ambassador for Greencore.
