On Sunday 26th August a team of walkers from Greencore’s facility in Consett will be completing the Lakeland 3 Peaks Challenge.
With a 6am start on Sunday , the first ascent will be Scafell Pike (978m) followed by Helvellyn (950m ) at 1.30pm and finally Skiddaw (931m) at 5pm aiming to be finished by 9pm
The team are walking 32k and climbing 2859m to raise money for Team Evie, the site’s chosen charity. This charity is important for the site as they provided amazing support to one of their colleagues and his family, who tragically lost their baby son before his first birthday.
Team Evie is a charity that supports sick children and their families providing help to 10 different wards and medical teams across the North East and Cumbria. They do this by raising vital funds to buy physiotherapy equipment, sensory equipment, comfort items, portable libraries, TVs, iPads for patients and staff training, Christmas and Easter hampers, breaks away for bereaved families and much, much more.
